GERMAN FLATTS -- State Police are investigating a fatal accident in Herkimer County that claimed the life of a teenager.

It happened Friday morning on State Route 5S in the Town of German Flatts.

Troopers say the preliminary investigation shows 14-year-old Kali Guyer, of Mohawk, attempted to cross the road and ran directly into the path of a car.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
