RICHFIELD SPRINGS -- A teenager is in trouble with the law after he's accused of texting a student about a bomb threat during a field trip.

Antheny Bush, 17, of Nedrow, is charged with falsely reporting an incident. He was given an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Onondaga Court at a later date.

Onondaga Central School District superintendent Joseph Rotella says a group of students were on a field trip heading to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Wednesday.

One of the students on board received a text message saying there was a bomb on the bus.

Officials say the bus driver immediately got the students off the bus and called 911. The bus pulled over in Richfield Springs at the corner of State Route 20 and 24.

The Richfield Springs School District brought a bus over for the kids to wait on while the police investigated. The Cooperstown School District then sent a bus to take the students to the Hall of Fame.

State Police conducted a sweep of the bus and determined it was safe.

Bush was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Onondaga Court at a later date.
