A man from Fulton advertised on Craigslist desiring to meet up with another man for a sexual encounter. Syracuse police said the unnamed 30-year old found a taker.  They had a rendezvous on Syracuse's north side in a wooded area off the 300 block of Martin Street. They met at approximately 12:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.

After the sexual encounter the victim told police he was attacked by the other man from behind.  The attacker slashed the victim's throat with a knife. The victim said there had been no argument.  The attacker calmly walked away.

Police say remarkably the victim drove himself to St. Joseph's Hospital.  The knife missed the arteries in the neck. He is expected to survive the surgery.

The attacker is described as 5'9" tall, thin build with short hair.  He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jeans and a black jacket with the letters POW on the back.

Police are asking for the public's help. If you saw anything in the area of 313 Martin Street on Syracuse's north side give them a call at 442-5222.
