Small, affordable three-wheel electric cars and scooters are gaining popularity in densely-populated cities in China, especially in the capital of Beijing.
Owners currently do not need a license for the electric scooters because it isn't classified as a car in China. They're able to use the city's main bike lanes and avoid the infamous traffic jams.
The special scooters cost between $645 and $1,400.
The Chinese government is pushing the sales of electric vehicles, especially more traditional cars. It wants to have one million of them on the streets by 2015.
