Drivers identified in crash that shut down State Route 31 in Baldwinsville

BALDWINSVILLE -- State Route 31 in Baldwinsville is back open after a serious crash on Tuesday.

Around 11:30 a.m., Rhonda Farrar, 42, of Fulton was driving north when she struck a car driven by Nellie Morrell, 81, of Memphis head-on, according to State Police.

Both drivers had to be cut from their vehicles.

Farrar was taken to Upstate University Hospital with a broken foot and was listed in serious condition.

Morrell was also transported to Upstate University Hospital. She has two broken legs, several fractured ribs, a fractured forearm, and a fractured neck. She was listed in critical condition.

The State Department of Transportation says the road was closed in both directions between Downer Street and East Dead Creek Road for several hours.
