SYRACUSE -- Thousands of families are in Syracuse this weekend for graduation, and police are making sure Marshall Street is safe following a shooting in front of the University Sheraton last week.
Police said they always have more officers on Marshall Street this time of year, because of the large crowds at bars and restaurants.
Still, the Syracuse Police Department is working with the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety to make everyone is safe.
Sergeant Gary Bulinski tells CNY Central officers don't expect any major issues, and will likely only deal with folks who have had too much to drink and parents who are trying to find their way back to hotels.
