Explosion may have started fire
Phoenix firefighters called in help from two Oswego and four Onondaga County departments, as they battled a housefire early Sunday morning. Even with all the help, there was not much they could do, to save the home---it's just piles of rubble.
The alarm, at 431 County Route 12, near Peter Scott Road, came in at 3:55am as a car into the house. That proved to be false, but Oswego County 911 tells us firefighters think some sort of explosion may have started the fire. The residents of the one storey home were away for the weekend. An owner, who did not want to talk, was back by mid-morning.
Besides Phoenix, Pennellville and Volney responded from Oswego County; Moyers Corners, Liverpool, Clay and Baldwinsville volunteers came from Onondaga County. Stay with CNYCentral for the latest on the fire cause.
