SYRACUSE -- Bobby Davis and Mike Lang have filed for an appeal in the defamation case against Syracuse University and head basketball coach Jim Boeheim.

Davis and Lang accused Boeheim and SU of defamation after he claimed their accusations of sexual abuse against former assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine were lies.

On Friday, Judge Brian DeJoseph ruled to dismiss the case against Boeheim and the University. He ruled that Boeheim’s comments were not statements of fact but were opinions that are protected from defamation suits.
