ONEIDA -- A Verona man faces charges after allegedly sexually abusing a 1-month old girl whose injuries were noticed by medical personnel.

State Police in Oneida say they arrested 22-year-old Andrew Potter on Friday for sexually abusing a 1-month-old girl.

Police say they were contacted by medical personnel at the Oneida Healthcare Facility regarding injuries to the baby girl.

Potter is charged with aggravated sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Potter was arraigned in the Village of Canastota Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail on $25,000 cash/ $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to be back court on May 24.
