WATERTOWN -- An East Syracuse man is facing a harassment charge after State Police say he threatened a lawyer.

Troopers say 35-year-old Rodney Sanford called attorney Charu Narang, who is representing Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Krystal Rice in a civil lawsuit against the Department. Sanford allegedly told Narang she would be continually stopped on the road by deputies and he would make it tough for her to practice law in New York.

Troopers say Sanford has no connection to law enforcement, and no one asked him to make the threats. We spoke with Narang, who says she has no reason to doubt there was no involvement by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Rice is suing the Sheriff's Department over topless photos taken of her. They were supposed to be used to help catch pedophiles, but Rice says she hasn't been able to get them back, even though she was promised she could. Rice is suing for $50 million .

As for Sanford's arrest, Narang says "I am very happy they managed to track him down. Hopefully this man will understand what he did was very wrong."
