SULLIVAN, MADISON COUNTY -- A man with a criminal past is in jail following a domestic dispute that turned into a police standoff.

It happened Wednesday around 3:48 a.m at 7412 Sandy Hatch Road in Sullivan, Madison County.

State Police responded to the home for a report of a domestic incident. When they arrived, officers were confronted at the front door by Jonathan Onn, 23.

Onn opened the door and displayed a long gun, according to police. He then slammed the door and began covering his windows.

Onn then sat on the ground and began kicking, according to police. He struck two officers and police had to use pepper spray on him.

The officers sustained non-life threatening injuries.
