Over 20 departments responded to a fire on Vann Road in Plainville late Friday evening.

Upon arriving at the scene, crews found the barn completely engulfed in flames, but the structure collapsed on itself, which kept the fire from spreading to any of the surrounding homes. No people or livestock were injured.

The windy conditions are causing smoke to billow throughout the surrounding area, and crews are expected to be on call throughout the night, and investigation on what caused the fire is still ongoing.
