SYRACUSE (AP) -- A 43-year-old Syracuse woman admits she fatally stabbed her 64-year-old boyfriend after a quarrel that started with a dispute over a domino game.
Carmen Valle pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter Wednesday before state Supreme Court Justice John Brunetti. She admitted stabbing Hector Sepulveda-Medina with a kitchen knife on the night of Oct. 21.
Valle could have faced up to 25 years in state prison for the manslaughter conviction. But Brunetti promised to impose a sentence of no more than 16 years when Valle appears before him on June 21.
He also agreed to consider a lesser sentence based on any information provide at sentencing.
