State police are investigating a one car fatal accident in the Oswego County town of Schroeppel. 

Police say around 9:40 Sunday morning, the car was traveling south on Peter Scott Rd. when it went off the road and hit a large tree. 

The car caught on fire and was completely consumed, killing the one person inside.   Police are not releasing the victim's name until autopsy results come back.

They say no one else was hurt, and no other cars were involved in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
