Golf, swimming, sports camps, dancing and more
There is no excuse for saying 'there's nothing to do' this summer. Or for 'I cannot afford it.' Syracuse Parks and Recreation has activities and events for all age groups, and most are for free.
Commissioner Baye Muhammad says camps for kids are already underway at city parks, swimming pools are offering lessons in the mornings, swim teams, and free swims in the afternoons. There are two 9-hole golf courses in Syracuse (Burnet and Sunnycrest) with some challenging options. Dancing under the Stars, for adults, is about to start its Friday evening runs, and there's also Pops in the Park, free concerts on Tuesday nights, plus daytime lunchtime live music and festivals and special events at Clinton Square.
