CAMILLUS -- Police in Camillus are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist late Thursday night.

According to the Camillus Police Department, around 9:42 p.m. a 2011 Ducati motorcycle driven by 27-year-old David J. Ragonese of Liverpool was turning onto Route 5 from West Genesee Turnpike when he lost control of the bike and hit a guardrail. Ragonese was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Route 5 eastbound was closed for several hours overnight while police investigated the crash.
