CORTLANDVILLE -- State Police are investigating a fatal tractor trailer accident that killed a pedestrian on Sunday night.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. on Interstate 81 in the Town of Cortlandville.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing the northbound lane of I-81 when he was hit by a Wegmans Food Markets tractor trailer.

The identification of the pedestrian has not been released yet.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Lourdes Hospital.
