Landscaping for water quality is the theme, dinner too!
Here's a different way to learn about saving water-related resources: take a cruise on Skaneateles Lake.
Sherry Martin, a Water Quality Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension in Onondaga County, says it's a way to find out about native plant species (good for the water quality), reducing erosion, and otherwise protecting Skaneateles Lake. The cruise, from the MidLakes Boat Dock in Skaneateles, will take you by lakeside landscapes that do the job of stabilizing soil, and by some that don't.
The cruise is Saturday, July 21st, 4 - 6pm, and advance registration is required through Extension, or by calling 424-9485
