Syracuse fire crews were busy on Sunday night, fighting a fire on Carbon Street in the city.
Deputy Fire Chief Bill Elderbroom says no one was home at the single family house when the fire broke out around 7 p.m.
It appears the fire started on the first floor and spread throughout the building. Elderbroom says crews were able to knock the fire down in about 15 minutes, but they did face challenges.
"Because of the heat and humidity outside, and this is our third fire this weekend, it takes a toll on everyone who's fighting it," says Elderbroom.
Fire crews were able to fight the flames from the inside, but the house is badly damaged.
None of the occupants or firefighters were hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
