Oswego man arrested after threatening driver with hammer

SCRIBA -- An Oswego man was arrested after threatening a victim with a hammer in the middle of the road.
Police in Oswego say they arrested a man for menacing, a misdemeanor following an incident in the town of Scriba on July 21.
Kenneth M. Cardinel, of Hay Fly Road in Oswego, allegedly approached the victim with a hammer in his hand after the victim almost struck Cardinel with his car.
Police say Cardinel was supposedly walking in the middle of the street at the time of the near-miss.
Cardinel was also charged with driving without a license and aggravated criminal mischief related to a previous incident where Cardinel allegedly threw a stone through a victims’ window.
Cardinel was arraigned in the Town of New Haven Court and released.
He has a court date in the Town of Scriba set for July 26.
