SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly robbing a bank earlier this summer.

Police say 54-year-old Johnny Coley, of Gifford Street in Syracuse, was indicted by an Onondaga County grand jury on a charge of third degree robbery.

The indictment was filed on Wednesday.

Coley is accused of holding up the Chase Bank on James Street back in June.

Police say he walked into the bank, told the teller he had a weapon, and got away with cash.

Police previously released surveillance photos of the bank robber, and they say they received tips based on those photos that led them to Coley.
