Ellisburg man charged with Vehicular Manslaughter after truck flips over, killing passenger

ELLISBURG -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says a man was killed and another charged with driving while intoxicated after the truck they were in flipped over at around 9:25pm Saturday evening in the Town of Ellisburg.
The Sheriff says Amado Hernandez-Alvarado, 23, of Ellisburg, was driving a 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck west on Lake Road in Ellisburg, when he exited the north shoulder of the road and flipped several times. The truck came to a stop in an adjacent field, killing the passenger in the car.
Officials identified the passenger as 33-year-old Rafael Espinoza from Mexico.
The Sheriff's Office charged Hernandez-Alvarado with Driving While Intoxicated, Second Degree Vehicular Manslaughter, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Speed not Reasonable and Prudent. He will be arraigned today in Town of Ellisburg Court.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
