UTICA -- Utica Police say they responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant that lead to Club Isis being evacuated Saturday night.

The owner of the Columbia Street building, Ernest Sanita, reportedly told police that his tenant, 30-year-old Chantal Bien-aime, was operating a generator and that the carbon monoxide fumes were placing everyone in the building in danger.

Bien-aime, of Utica, told police that National Grid turned off his power for non-payment, so he was using the generator to keep his business open.

Police say the Utica Fire Department responded and evacuated the building for unsafe levels of carbon monoxide. Paramedics offered medical treatment to other tenants of the building.

Police say that it was later posted that the first floor of the building could not be occupied.

Bien-aime had his city cabaret license revoked after police say they were refused entry into his business for an inspection.
