KIRKWOOD (AP) -- Law enforcement officials have scheduled a news conference to discuss details of what they're calling a major drug trafficking investigation in the Southern Tier.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Syracuse says federal prosecutors, New York State Police and other law enforcement agencies will be at the news conference, scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the trooper barracks in the Broome County town of Kirkwood, just outside Binghamton.

A spokesman for federal prosecutors in Syracuse say Thursday morning that no details will be released until the news conference.
