SYRACUSE (AP) -- A central New York woman has admitted trying to arrange the killing of the husband of a woman she was having a relationship with last year.
The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that 40-year-old Marnie Nappi of East Syracuse pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree criminal solicitation and faces from 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison as part of a plea bargain. She was originally charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Nappi was arrested in September after a sting launched by police who were tipped off about her efforts to hire a hitman to kill 40-year-old David Gardner.
Police said at the time that Nappi paid at least $20,000 in failed attempts to arrange the killing starting in January 2011.
She's scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 12.
