BINGHAMTON (AP) -- Police officials in Binghamton say one of their officers has been involved in a shooting stemming from a domestic dispute.

Police Chief Joseph Zikuski tells the Press and Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton that police were called to a home around 8 p.m. Thursday. He says one person was shot and another was stabbed. 

The chief says a police officer was involved in the shooting but wasn't injured. He hasn't released details.

Information on the conditions of the man and woman injured in the dispute wasn't available.

Police plan to hold a news conference Friday afternoon to release more information.
