A sewer backup made for a nasty flood in the State Fair Art and Home Center on Saturday, and it will affect one popular draw in the building: The State Fair Demonstration Kitchen is closed, until the repairs are done AND the area is cleaned, disinfected, and re-certified by the Health Department.

The Kitchen has food cooking demonstrations several times a day during the fair (I have been a 'celebrity cooker' for years, showing how to prepare favorite dishes). We are told crews worked all night, and they're hoping to reopen by Monday.

The Art & Home Center itself is reopened, and there are regular Fair activities and displays in other parts of the building.
