HASTINGS -- A Watertown man is being held without bail after allegedly trying to set a person on fire.
Deputies say they arrested 24-year-old Matthew Roof of Watertown following a domestic dispute in the Town of Hastings.
Roof allegedly threw rubbing alcohol and vodka on a 33-year-old woman and lit her on fire, officials say.
Undersheriff Eugene Sullivan says the woman was able to shed the burning clothes and wasn't injured during the attack.
Roof was arraigned in Central Square and remanded without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 10.
Last November, Roof was accused of tying a child to a chair with zip ties and duct tape at a Town of Hastings home. According to an Oswego County Court clerk, Roof pleaded not guilty in June and is expected to reappear in court in September.
