LEE, ONEIDA COUNTY -- A traffic violation stop near Lee Town Park, on Route 26 in Oneida County, ended with a chase and the arrest of a man wanted in connection with meth labs.

At about 10:30 on Saturday night, an Oneida Deputy pulled a car over, and recognized the passenger and wnted on several drug and family court warrants.  37 year old Troy Henderson, from Floyd Avenue in Rome, bolted into a wooded area, with the deputy and troopers chasing and finally catching him.  Henderson is in the Oneida County Jail, with no bail.

Deputies say Henderson had over an ounce of powder methamphetamine on him when arrested.  He's also wanted on warrants in connection with a house fire on Floyd Avenue in Rome, where a child was burned.  Deputies say the fire was started in an illegal meth lab.

Last night, a searchof the car also turned up meth that deputies say had just been made, as well as meth lab equipment, chemicals and more meth that was being manufactured.  Because of potential hazard, they stopped the search and called in the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, as well as a DEC hazardous material removal team.  Henderson reportedly had over 20 ounces of liquid meth and large quantities of sudaphedarine, a key drug manufacturing ingredient.

The car's driver is not yet identified, pending the outcome of the investigation.
