After week one brought football back in style in Central New York, high school football teams settled into their 2012 campaign Friday night.
In what may have been the best battle of the night, Henniger visited a packed house at C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville. It was a high scoring affair from the beginning, as Baldwinsville's Tyler Rouse scored on the second play from scrimmage. Henniger answered right away, as Riquelle Othman also scored on Henniger's second play from scrimmage. They went back and forth for most of the night, with Baldwinsville finally holding the high score when the clock ran out, winning 47-42. Rouse had 278 yards on 34 carries with three touchdowns.
Coming off theirĀ tough loss to CBA last week, Nottingham visited ESM in a Class A battle. ESM star running back Jeff McDuffie struggled with an ankle injury for most of the game, allowing visiting Nottingham to jump out to an early two touchdown lead. McDuffie came back in the second half to provide some help on the ground and on defense, but that wasn't enough, as Nottingham pulled out a 20 point victory, 35-15.
