Severe thunderstorm, tornado watch for our area

SYRACUSE -- Severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings are in effect for our area.

 

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for Onondaga, Seneca, southern Cayuga, northwest Madison & northwest Oneida counties until 1:30pm. Squall line with 60mph winds will be pushing through much of Central NY between 12:30-1:30pm. Warnings are also in effect for Jefferson, and Oswego counties until 1:15pm.

The National Weather Service also issued a tornado watch for portions of Central and Eastern New York. This is in effect until 10pm. Tornadoes with hail up to 1 inch in diamater, wind gusts up to 80mph, and dangerous lightening are possible.

CNY Central First Alert Meteorologists are watching two storm lines traveling through our area. The first threatens the 81 corridor around noontime. The second will threaten the 81 corridor between 2-4pm.
