WATKINS GLEN (AP) -- A 25-year-old upstate New York man has admitted taking part in the killing of another man in April and is expected to testify against a co-defendant.

Local media report Nathan Hand of Corning pleaded guilty in Schuyler County Court on Thursday to first-degree manslaughter as part of a deal that includes a 19-year prison sentence. He had been charged with second-degree murder along with 40-year-old Alice Trappler of Addison for the fatal shooting of Daniel Bennett.

Authorities said Trappler and Bennett had been in a relationship and having a dispute over her infant daughter.

The man they say killed Bennett with a shotgun, 32-year-old Thomas Borden of Corning, committed suicide by jumping in front of a Philadelphia commuter train as police chased him. Hand had accompanied Borden to Bennett's home.
