CICERO -- The Cicero Police Department annouced on the deparment's Facebook page the arrest of a 16-year-old boy.
The teen is charged with three burglaries that happened this summer in the John's Landing area of the town. The burglaries were particularly disturbing to neighbors and police because they happened when people were home. The teen suspect was arraigned in Cicero Justice Court.
Items stolen include bikes, phones, iPods, cash, gaming systems, and car keys. In one case, an unlocked car with keys inside was stolen.
The break-ins were the subject of a CNYcentral news report in August. At the time, police said these crimes are unusual for the area.
"Most of our town is relatively quiet," said Cicero Police Investigator James Meyers. "You know, we deal with the occasional car larcenies here and there. But to see, you know, four or five burglaries in a couple days in a small neighborhood, a quiet neighborhood like this, is not common."
