JEFFERSON COUNTY -- There is a moose on the loose in Southern Jefferson County.

The giant creature has captured the attention of people living in the Towns of Worth and Lorraine, which are about eight miles southeast of Adams.

The moose has been hanging out near a small herd of dairy heifers over the last three weeks. Neighbors have been taking pictures as the moose patiently grazes.

Moose can stand up to six feet tall at their shoulder.

They don't eat meat, only plants. They can do a lot of damage to cars if they're hit because of their size.
