SYRACUSE -- A Clinton man was stopped by security at Hancock Airport in Syracuse after they found a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.
A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer found the 25 caliber pistol in the man's carry-on as it passed through the x-ray machine at the checkpoint. One bullet was chambered in the gun at the time.
The TSA contacted Syracuse Police who confiscated the gun.
Syracuse Police say the man had a valid pistol permit and appears to have forgotten he had the gun in his luggage.
The man was later rebooked on a flight to his destination in Philadelphia.
No charges have been filed and his name will not be released.
Weapons are not allowed in carry-on luggage. Travelers can only transport unloaded firearms in a locked, hard-sided container in checked baggage.
