SYRACUSE -- National Grid released its home heating forecast and the company says customers will see a drop of as much as 3-percent in their total natural gas bill over the winter heating season.

National Grid says a  typical residential heating customer will pay about $644 from November to March. That's $21 less than last year.

The cost of natural gas supply is one of two parts of a customer's heating bill. The other is the delivery portion of the bill, which reflects the cost to bring the gas directly to a customer's home, maintain the local gas network and provide emergency response and customer service.

National Grid is not changing its delivery price per unit this winter.
