Oneida County man arrested for rape

CAMDEN, ONEIDA CO. -- A Camden man was arrested late Monday afternoon for rape, according to Chief Dean Obemesser of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Denise Luker, with assistance from members of the Camden Police Department, arrested 51-year-old Edward Washeleski after an investigation into an sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Camden.
Washeleski was charged with rape in the second degree, a class D felony, arraigned in Town of Floyd Court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility . Bail was set at $15,000.
The victim has been offered counseling by the Oneida County Department of Social Services, working with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
