ONEIDA -- Oneida Mayor Don Hudson has passed away.

Hudson ran for mayor of Oneida in 2011 after retiring from the fire department where he gave 28 years of service. For seven of those years, he was the Fire Chief in Oneida.

The Oneida Daily Dispatch newspaper sites a long illness as his cause of death.
