NEW HAVEN (AP) -- Authorities say one person has been killed in a single-car crash on a central New York road.

Officials in Oswego County tell local media outlets that the crash occurred around 5 a.m. Thursday on a road in the rural town of New Haven, on Lake Ontario 30 miles north of Syracuse.

Police say Thomas W. Currier, age 23, from 403 Pople Ridge Road in Mexico, was traveling north on Johnson Road when he lost control of his 2000 Saab, exited the west side shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.  

Currier was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The investigation is continuing.
