OSWEGO COUNTY -- Oswego County will test the Prompt Notification System for the 10 mile Emergency Planning Zone around the Scriba nuclear plants on Friday.

On Friday morning around 9:58 a.m., WSYR 570 will activate it’s EAS for Oswego County. It will also broadcast a message indicating that the sirens have been activated as part of an annual test.

As part of the test, county personnel will activate the 37 emergency sirens. The sirens will be tested from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and end with the full test on Friday.
