WEST VIRGINIA (AP) -- Former North Country Congressman David Martin Died Tuesday November 20 at his home in Hedgesville, West Virginia under the care of hospice.
The cause of death was not immediately released.
Martin was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1966-1970.
He served in the state Assembly from 1977-1980, when he was elected to Congress.
He was a Congressman from 1980-1993, when he declined to run again.
Martin was credited for helping persuade the U.S. Army to station the reactivated 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum.
The funeral services were not immediately available.
