SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police say neighboring apartments on Putnam Street were robbed on Sunday evening.

Police say at 6:25 Sunday evening three to four black male suspects forced their way into Apartment 1 at 102 Putnam Street and demanded the resident for money. The resident, a 27 year old woman, told the suspects she did not have any money, so they proceeded to ransack her apartment, taking her phone and assorted jewelry.

Then, the suspects forced the woman at gunpoint upstairs to Apartment 2 of the building. The resident of Apartment 2, a 41 year old man, said he was struck in the head with a gun several times by one of the suspects, while another suspect held the woman at gunpoint in the doorway. The man said he laid down on the ground and pretended to be knocked out while the suspects ransacked his apartment, and it is unknown what was taken. The man suffered minor lacerations and contusions from the assault.

The investigation is active, and anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Syracuse Police.
