Suspended Syracuse Police officer accused of violating order of protection

NORTH SYRACUSE -- A Fulton man and suspended Syracuse Police officer was arrested for violating an order of protection issued to his ex-girlfriend.

Police say Kevin J. Blair, 46, was arrested for ignoring an order of protection and charged with criminal contempt. Blair was accused of hitting his now ex-girlfriend in June.

He was arraigned in the Town of Clay Court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center in lieu of $17,500 cash and $35,000 bond.

Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan told CNY Central that, “Kevin Blair is and has been suspended from the Syracuse Police Department without pay pending termination."
