Sunday update:  Homeowners and the person throwing the party still not being identified. Deputies stepped in when they say several underaged people were coming from the Deerfield house with alcoholic beverages. The injured teen is now in fair (non life-threatening) condition at Upstate University Hospital.

A car crash led to another investigation, which led to an overnight tragedy in Oneida County.

Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say a 17-year-old from Poland Michael Pinto, is in fair condition at Upstate University Hospital, after falling down a thirty foot-plus cliff, while fleeing a house party late Friday night.

Deputies had been called to the car crash, on Bell Hill Road on the Oneida/Herkimer County line, when they located the  house party just down the road.  When they were breaking it up, several of the people ran into the woods.  They say Pinto ran into the woods with no flashlight, and fell down the cliff to a river bed below.  Deerfield firefighters were called to reach him at the bottom of the ravine.  The investigation continues.
