SARATOGA SPRINGS (AP) -- Scores of protesters are expected to greet gun enthusiasts when they arrived at an upstate New York venue that's hosting a firearms show this weekend.

The Saratogian newspaper reports that three different groups have obtained permits from the city of Saratoga Springs to stage demonstrations outside the downtown City Center during Saturday's gun show. 

One of the groups plans to hold wooden, cutout angels in memory of the victims of last month's mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Some residents of Saratoga Springs have asked city officials to cancel the two-day gun show at the city-owned venue out of respect for the Newtown victims. The public authority that runs the City Center said earlier this week that the event will go on as planned.
