ELBRIDGE -- State Police in Elbridge reported a one-car fatal accident that happened early January 12^th on Old Route 31.

Troopers say 35-year-old Bradley S. Reed of Brutus, in Cayuga County, lost control of his vehicle, hitting a mailbox and a snow bank before hitting a guardrail and falling 50-70 feet down into the brook below.

The car was not found until after 7:15am. Police say Reed was pronounced dead on the scene.

A spokesperson for the State Police told CNY Central that they did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but that wet roads were likely to blame.
