Syracuse ranks fifth on list of best cities for commuters

Three upstate New York cities make the top 15 best cities for commuters, according to a study On Numbers released Monday.
Syracuse was ranked fifth on list, Rochester was ranked eighth, and Buffalo was ranked eleventh.
“On Numbers analyzed traffic data for all 942 U.S. metropolitan and micropolitan areas, including the 100 major markets that contain at least 230,000 workers,” according to Buffalo Business First.

8. Rochester
11. Buffalo
27. Albany-Schenectady-Troy
87. Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown
99. New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island
The top 11 best major markets for commuters are:
1. Wichita
2. Toledo
3. Des Moines
4. Omaha
5. Syracuse
6. Scranton-Wilkes-Barre
7. Youngstown, Ohio
8. Rochester, N.Y.
9. Dayton
10. McAllen-Edinburg. Texas
11. Buffalo
The worst major markets for commuters are:
