Man shot on Syracuse's southside, robbed of diamond earrings

SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man was allegedly shot and robbed of diamond earrings on Syracuse’s southside Monday night.
Syracuse Police say that it happened near the intersection of South Avenue near Eastman Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Patrick Stephens, 22, told police that he was shot multiple times by an unknown black male who robbed him of his diamond earrings. Stephens told police that he fought with the suspect before he was shot.
Police say Stephens was hit in the right arm, right thigh, and both buttocks. His injuries are not life threatening.
Stephens told police that after he was shot, he walked several blocks to a store at South Avenue and West Colvin where he called his family. Stephens's family picked him up and drove him home before he was taken to the hospital around 10:20pm.
Police say they were called to Community Hospital around 11:10 p.m. for a report of a shooting victim who arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle.
Officers were unable to locate a scene on South Avenue and the case is currently under investigation.
