Apple crop bounces back after damaging spring frost

Despite the freezing temperatures and frost last spring that damaged early budding apple trees and wiped out more than half of many local farmers’ apple crop, one farmer says there still are plenty of apples ready to be picked.

One of the two baby swans in Manlius has died. Ornithologist Michael Bean said the cygnet was struggling to swim at one end of the swan pond and a bystander jumped in to try to save it. Bean says the cygnet died less than an hour later.
