The SU men's basketball team had a 16 point lead over Louisville in the second half of the Big East Tournament Championship, but behind Tournament MVP Peyton Siva's 11 points and eight assists, Louisville won their second Big East Tournament Championship in a row, defeating Syracuse 78-61.

The Louisville Cardinals came from behind to beat Rutgers 20-17 in the final Big East game of the season, allowing the Cardinals, Rutgers and Syracuse to finish with a 5-2 Big East record, and a three-way share of the Conference title.

The victory gives the Orange the top seed in next week's BIG EAST Championship. Syracuse will face No. 4 seed Providence in the first semifinal on Friday at 5 p.m. at Louisville's Trager Stadium. UConn receives the second seed and will play No. 3 seed Louisville on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Syracuse University softball team (44-11) won its second consecutive BIG EAST Tournament Championship, defeating Louisville (36-18), 1-0, on Saturday, May 14, at Ulmer Stadium. With the win, the Orange earned its second straight automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
